I have to admit, the Duel has not gotten off to the start I had hoped for. Sadly, almost ten months have passed and we have yet to create a post. “The best laid plans…”, as they say.

The fact that I find most ridiculous and embarrassing, actually, is that I already have outlines begun for about five posts. Unfortunately, client work, paying bills, and balancing family life has taken precedent. For this, I apologize and I certainly hope to get something brilliant posted soon. Okay, “brilliant” may be a stretch. How about if I write something that I feel is worth reading, just to get the ball rolling?

Welcome to the Fisticuff Design Co. “Final Duel”.

What exactly might you expect from the Duel? To be honest, we are not entirely sure, yet. Fisticuff Design has a few ideas and we hope that our readers will help to propel them forward and help this forum grow through positive dialog.

First, this will be a place to read out what we have been up to and the sort of projects we are working on. You know, news and such. Second, we would like to use the blog as a means to call attention to sites, projects, articles, etc. that we think you will find useful. Finally, this will be an area to voice opinions and arguments (in a respectful manner) on a variety of topics related to all things print, web, design and multimedia. This is where the DUELing begins. Our team will take a topic and discuss it from different points of view. Then our readers take over giving their “two cents” and we will see how the discussion evolves. Sound good? Of course it does. Make sure to register and join in the discussion.

Well, the gloves are off and we look forward to “throwing down for design” with you.
